Weslo Elliptical Machine Review

Cons: Poor construction, limited functions, short warranty

The Weslo elliptical machine is one of the lower priced units, and you basically get what you pay for.

It is not the most heavy-duty machine I've used. In fact, I didn't feel comfortable on it at all. I weight about 200 lbs and the combination of a relatively small base and average strength material made me feel that the unit was too unstable. If you weight less than 180 lbs or so, you'd probably have better results in this aspect of it.

The console on the Weslo home elliptical is not very good and has a limited number of programs to choose from. It does show the standard information however:

• Distance travelled
• Time
• Steps taken
• Calories burned

The distance travelled and steps taken are really just two versions of the same thing, however. The steps taken always seems to be double the distance. So if you travel 100 units of distance, you've taken 200 steps.

The warranty on the Weslo elliptical machine is only 90 days. Many other low-cost brands also only have a 90 day warranty, so it isn't necessarily worse than others, but 90 days is really not enough to cover any problems. If you use the machine regularly, potential problems might pop up before that, but if it gets occasional use, it's doubtful that you would have problems before the warranty ran out.
